GE Healthcare's Centricity® enterprise receives CCHIT certification

The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT®)–an independent, nonprofit organization and a Recognized Certification Body in the United States for certifying health information technology products, recently announced that GE Healthcare IT’s Centricity® Enterprise Version 6.7 is pre-market, conditionally CCHIT Certified®, and meets the Commission’s inpatient electronic health record (EHR) criteria for 2007.

GE recently revised its earnings guidance for the third quarter, to a range of $0.43 to $0.48 per share from $0.50 to $0.54, reflecting unprecedented weakness and volatility in the financial markets. While GE’s funding position is strong and the company has performed well during the recent market volatility, it has taken steps to strengthen its already strong capital and liquidity position.
GE Healthcare IT unveils Centricity® enterprise monitored care application for clinical device integration

As part of efforts to provide clinicians with comprehensive patient data at the point of care, GE Healthcare IT recently introduced Centricity© Enterprise Monitored Care, an application that integrates clinical and medical device data under one standard platform. Developed in partnership with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), the application augments a comprehensive electronic record using data captured directly from bedside devices in monitored environments such as intensive care, cardiac care units (ICU, CCU), and the emergency department.

GE sets focus on virtual environment

In an interview with Health Imaging News recently, Don Woodlock, the vice-president of imaging solutions for GE, said that that despite the recent economic challenges, GE believes that the outpatient diagnostic imaging center and community hospital market to be fertile ground for vendors and will be unveiling its overarching strategy for the imaging solutions business at the upcoming RSNA conference in Chicago with an emphasis on the “one desktop, one patient and one community” concept.
