Radiation Exposure Of The Patients In Chest Radiography: The Survey For The Conditions And The Assessment Of Over-Exposure
In a whitepaper published at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Dr Chung Myung Jin from SMC found that Digital Radiography is a promising tool to replace film-screen radiography as it has been proved to reduce patient radiation exposure better than traditional film-screen radiography. However in many healthcare institutions, the exposure conditions for digital radiographies are set too high, resulting in high patient risk of radiation overexposure. As such, radiation exposures need to be monitored more closely with robust Digital Radiology systems.
